Housewife Kills 3-Day-Old Baby Boy In Niger State

Harela Uba, a 22-year-old housewife was arrested by the Niger State police command for allegedly killing a 3-day-old baby boy. While the suspects were paraded before newsmen, Adamu Usman, the Niger State Police Commissioner said that someone called Uba Saidu of Shakodna Village reported the issue to the Shiroro Police Division in Niger State. He also said that the suspect will be charged for murder soon. He said that Fa’iza Uba, which is his 2nd wife, went into the bathroom on the day of the incident leaving her 3-day-old baby boy in her bedroom. When she returned unfortunately for her she found her baby boy foaming in his mouth. The baby was then rushed to the General Hospital in Kuta where he was confirmed dead by the doctors. “The police on reasonable suspicion invited his first wife, one Harela Uba for questioning, being the one at home when the incident happened. “Upon interrogation, Harela confessed to giving her seven-year-old daughter, Khadija Uba, a liquid substance suspected to be insecticide also known as ‘Ota Pia-Pia,’ to administer on the child, which she did,” the Commissioner said.
